In a significant shift from its origins as a smartphone manufacturer, Xiaomi is rapidly evolving into a multifaceted technology powerhouse with expansive ambitions across various sectors including homes, transportation, and digital services. Central to this transformation is the company’s “Human x Car x Home” strategy, which envisions a seamless integration of technology into everyday life through an interconnected ecosystem.

Recently, Xiaomi entered the network-attached storage (NAS) market by launching the Xiaomi Smart Storage device, available in 4TB, 8TB, and 16TB variants. The device, which supports features such as multi-device backups, remote file access, 4K media streaming, and AI-powered photo management, reportedly secured over 30,000 orders within its first hour of crowdfunding. This move underscores Xiaomi’s expanding product portfolio, which now includes not just smartphones and televisions but also tablets, smartwatches, wireless earbuds, air purifiers, routers, home appliances, smart lighting products, gaming monitors, electric scooters, coffee machines, portable printers, and electric vehicles.

At the heart of this extensive ecosystem is HyperOS, Xiaomi’s innovative software platform designed to connect devices seamlessly across homes and vehicles. By leveraging this platform, the company aims to offer users a cohesive and affordable technological experience that enhances connectivity and accessibility.

The strategic focus on diversification and integration has yielded impressive financial outcomes for Xiaomi. In the first quarter of 2026, the company reported a revenue of 99.1 billion yuan with a net income of 4.72 billion yuan. Additionally, Xiaomi achieved a record adjusted net profit of 39.2 billion yuan for the full 2025 financial year, reflecting the success of its comprehensive strategy.

Further cementing its position in the technology landscape, Xiaomi has made notable strides in the electric vehicle market, having delivered 600,000 vehicles since its entry into the sector. The company anticipates that total deliveries will reach 550,000 units by the end of 2026. By integrating consumer electronics, smart-home devices, digital infrastructure, and electric cars, Xiaomi is setting itself apart as one of the world’s most ambitious and versatile technology companies.
