The gathering was held at 6 p.m. local time and was prompted by the Philippines in its capacity as the chair of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), as stated by Rachada Dhanadirek, spokesperson for the Thai Prime Minister’s Office.

Following the discussions, a press conference was convened, led by the Philippine president as the ASEAN chair, followed by addresses from the Cambodian and Thai prime ministers. During the conference, Anutin expressed gratitude to President Marcos for facilitating the crucial meeting. He highlighted that his dialogue with the Cambodian leader was both constructive and forward-looking, emphasizing the candid and meaningful nature of their talks.

The meeting served as a vital platform for both Thailand and Cambodia to reaffirm their dedication to dialogue and maintaining peace in the region. Anutin underscored the importance of such engagement, noting that both countries are closely connected across various dimensions due to their geographical proximity. He stressed that conflict only results in loss and hardship for all involved, reinforcing the need to value peace in their bilateral relations.

As both nations look to the future, the Thai prime minister highlighted the necessity of opening a new chapter in their relationship. He emphasized that overcoming challenges would require sincerity, good faith, and a mutual determination to advance together. The commitment to dialogue and peace, he noted, is crucial for sustaining the prosperity and stability of the region.
