“Simply because of our nuclear weapons” is why Russia cannot lose the war in Ukraine, Ambassador Denis Alipov stated in a blunt assessment.
“You can’t, you know, take over us in this conflict,” he said, directly tying the war’s outcome to Russia’s nuclear deterrent.
He also clarified the policy, noting Russia’s doctrine allows for the use of these weapons if the state’s existence is threatened.
Given this, Alipov called European hopes for a Ukrainian victory “childish behavior” and “unprofessional.”
He also claimed Donald Trump, unlike European leaders, “understands” the “futility” of the war and that it is “lost by Ukraine and the West.”
